They can be monitored and reported over time to show how a system is changing. The main indices used are Cp and Cpk.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9ed4b86 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"9ed4b86\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h6>Requirement:<\/h6><ul><li>Collecting data (The operating conditions that affect the measured characteristic should be\u00a0defined and controlled, in other words process must be stable). More data collected, more precise will be the results.<\/li><li>Verify the process is under control.<\/li><li>Review individual data values on a <a href=\"https:\/\/cpk-studio.com\/index.php\/cpk-analyzer\/\">histogram chart<\/a> to verify that the distribution of values is normal.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/cpk-studio.com\/index.php\/cpk-analyzer\/\">Analyzing results<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul><div>\u00a0<\/div><h6>Objective:<\/h6><ul><li>Check process is in statistical control.<\/li><li>Demonstrate that the process is centered\u00a0within the specification limits and that the process variation predicts the process is\u00a0capable of producing parts within the tolerance requirements.<\/li><li>Check improvement made on a process.<\/li><li>Identify improvement opportunities in the process by reducing or possibly<br \/>eliminating sources of variability.<\/li><\/ul><div>\u00a0<\/div><h6>Main possible actions:<\/h6><ul><li><strong>Reduce variability<\/strong>.<\/li><li><strong>Center the process<\/strong>. When the process spread is approximately the same as\u00a0the specification spread, an adjustment to the centering of the process may\u00a0bring the bulk of the product within specifications.<\/li><li><strong>Reviewing tolerances<\/strong> based on the inherent variability of a process.<\/li><li><strong>Change the specifications<\/strong>. The specification limits may be unrealistic. In\u00a0some cases, specifications may be set tighter than necessary.<\/li><li><strong>Accept the losses<\/strong>. Some centering and reduction in variation may\u00a0be possible, but the principal emphasis is on handling the scrap and rework\u00a0efficiently.<\/li><li><strong>Do nothing<\/strong>. If the process limits match the specification, no\u00a0action may be required.<\/li><\/ul><p>A process capability analysis can determine if a process is capable of producing parts that conform to engineering specifications.
